Set on a sprawling horse farm surrounded by acres of rolling countryside, the Orchard Hill Kitchen was designed to reflect the grounded, intentional lifestyle of its owners. They envisioned a space that felt warm and refined, echoing the textures of the land and the rhythm of rural living. With mossy green cabinetry, rich walnut woodwork, and softly lit glass elements, this kitchen blends rustic charm with tailored sophistication.
The clients were drawn to heritage-inspired palettes but wanted the space to feel fresh, functional, and uniquely theirs. The goal was to design a kitchen with traditional soul and modern sensibility—where every feature felt intentional. We needed to blend storage, lighting, and architectural elements seamlessly into a cohesive whole, while giving the room its own distinct character.
To meet the challenge, we focused on elevating simple forms through rich materials and thoughtful detailing—shaker doors in a deep, earthy green; walnut finishes that add warmth and movement; and glass accents that offer a touch of visual lightness.
Mossy Oak Cabinetry & Timeless Shaker Detailing
The cabinetry, painted in Mossy Oak by Benjamin Moore, creates a grounded and inviting foundation. The classic shaker style brings a sense of familiarity, while the muted green hue adds depth and sophistication. Gold hardware punctuates each door and drawer, offering a subtle hint of luxury.
Custom Walnut Island with Dual-Sided Storage
At the center of the kitchen, a custom walnut island anchors the space both visually and functionally. Storage on both sides ensures the island works as hard as it looks—ideal for entertaining, family life, or quiet mornings alone. The wood grain adds warmth and texture, contrasting beautifully with the painted perimeter cabinetry.
Metal & Fluted Glass Accents
Richelieu metal frame doors with fluted glass introduce a layer of visual softness. These upper cabinets offer display opportunities without fully revealing their contents, while the reeded texture adds rhythm and refinement to the overall design.
Integrated Puck Lighting for Ambient Display
Shelving is subtly lit with integrated puck lights, providing both utility and ambiance. These thoughtfully placed fixtures elevate everyday items into curated displays and add dimension to the kitchen’s layered look.
Custom Walnut Arch Detail
A handcrafted walnut arch softens the geometry of the room and draws the eye upward, framing the space with a sculptural elegance. This one-of-a-kind element adds architectural interest and echoes the natural warmth of the island below.
The Orchard Hill Kitchen is a masterclass in balance—traditional but not predictable, sophisticated yet deeply livable. From the tactile richness of the walnut island to the soft glow of puck-lit shelves, every detail was designed with intention. It’s a kitchen that welcomes both quiet mornings and lively gatherings, all while exuding a quiet confidence.
By pairing classic forms with custom craftsmanship and layered materials, we created a space that feels rooted, timeless, and entirely personal.
