For this luxury chalet vacation rental, we were tasked with creating a kitchen that would elevate the rental experience for high-end guests. The kitchen needed to combine modern minimalism with bold, luxurious materials. Our objective was to create a space that blended functional elegance with sleek aesthetics—incorporating dark tones, high-end finishes, and efficient storage solutions. The result had to be a kitchen that would not only look stunning in photos but also offer a practical layout for renters to enjoy during their stay.
Our team worked with Maison Blonde on crafting a visually striking, easy-to-maintain kitchen with premium materials and thoughtfully integrated features. The goal was to seamlessly merge a moody, minimalist design with modern luxury that would appeal to vacationers seeking a high-end experience.
Rich Materials and Modern Cabinetry
The lower cabinets in this kitchen feature flat slab v-groove rift-cut white oak in a deep black stain, a modern choice that adds texture and luxury to the space. To complement the minimalist aesthetic, we chose simple, modern hardware for the lower cabinets, allowing easy access without detracting from the kitchen’s clean lines. The upper cabinets, however, are hardware-free, with sleek beveled edges, creating a seamless look and ensuring the focus remains on the stunning design elements.
Dramatic Quartzite Island
A focal point of the kitchen is the island, featuring a beautiful quartzite stone countertop that extends 3″ over the seating side and cascades down both adjacent sides in a dramatic waterfall effect. This bold design element not only serves as an eye-catching centerpiece but also offers a functional workspace and gathering area for renters.
Custom Cabinetry for Optimal Storage
Behind the beauty of this kitchen lies functionality. The custom cabinetry includes deep storage drawers that allow renters to easily access kitchen essentials, ensuring the space remains clutter-free. The flat slab v-groove design adds subtle texture and sophistication, while the dark black stain enhances the overall moody, luxurious feel of the kitchen.
